Henry’s First Flight South

Every story needs a good beginninghis is the story of Henry the duck, but it’s a different Henry to the Henry you might know. Because, not everybody knows this, but just about every duck is called Henry!

And this Henry was not a strong flyer. In fact, truth be told, he was terrible.

Winter wasn’t far off and the ducks were getting ready to fly south, but Henry still hadn’t flown higher than the treetops and after twenty minutes of flying he was usually exhausted.

The other ducks had been helping Henry to get stronger, giving him exercises to do and flying next to him quacking encouragement. Unfortunately, no matter how hard Henry worked and no matter how hard his friends helped, it seemed impossible that Henry would be ready to fly south for the winter.

OK, OK, I’m actually just getting set up and I’m wanting to have the first few stories proof read before I put them up but it won’t be long before we’re up, up and away…
